BEET SUGAR INDUSTRY.
It will be encouraging to those who are alive to the importance of the beet-root sugar industry to hear that the Auckland Chamber of Commerce have written to Mr Graham, stating that that important body will have pleasure in disseminating his views upon this question, and asking to be furnished with copies of his address. We are very glad to learn this, for if Mr Graham can only secure the sympathy of the Chamber of Commerce of Auckland, and we have no reason to doubt that he will, it will greatly assist the movement. Mr Graham rightly stated at Ohaupu that the citizens of Auckland must, as a consequence, be henefitted to an equal degree as our country districts by this industry being firmly established, inasmuch as Auckland is the natural and best market for Waikato ; and, therefore, ft revival of settlement and farmers prospects in Waikato would also mean a revival of business in the city of Auckland.
