DAIRYING IN THE WAIKATO.
As announced in our last issue, the Waikato Dairy Company have leased their factory to the New Zealand Frozen Meat and Storage Company for the purpose of butter-making, during the coming season. The butter company will purchase milk from the public generally at the price of 2Jd per gallon ; the supplier receiving back the skim milk. It has been found in practice, that for each supplierto take back his skim milk involves such a waste of time as to practically make such an arrangement impossible. To meet this difficulty the 1 Waikato Dairy Company, who have excellent arrangements for feeding pigs, have arranged to take over the skim milk, not only of their own shareholders, but of thu suppliers generally on fair and equitable terms. Persons who supply milk will therefore receive 2Ad per gallon in casli each mouth, and their share of the proceeds of the skim milk utilised in the best possible manner ; or, if they prefer it, the skim milk will be returned to them.
