FIRE AT CAMBRIDGE.
A kirk took place at Cambridge West about Hve o’clock yesterday afternoon, whereby a tbree-roomed house, the property of Mr James Hicks in Cambridge (Vest, was totally destroyed by fire, only a couple of chairs being saved. Mrs Hicks was washing outside, and left a wood fire burning on a colonial oven, in which bread was being baked. She thinks some of the fire must have, dropped on to the floor and ignited it. The house is insured in the New Zealand office for £SO. Mr Hicks estimates his loss at £l3O.
