THE POSTAL DEPARTMENT.
(heuter’k telegbams.) (Received August 10th, 3.10 p.m.) London, August 9. The Imperial Postal Department reports from Rome, that the Italian postal officials have agreed to the transit rates of 480 centimes per kilogramme for letters and postcards, and 324 centimes for printed matter. The minimum guaranteed is 050,000 francs annually, under the convention for two years, from January next. It was further arranged that the Italian quota should be increased if Franco obtains a quota above six francs.
