LATEST WELLINGTON NEWS.

Wellington', Monday. The City Advance Company put in a claim in Waters estate, for £I9OO which the Official Assignee rejected on the ground that the company should prosecute Waters. To-day an application was made to the judge sitting in bankruptcy to compell the Assignee to allow the company to prove on the estate and the argument was fixed for a future date.

A fisherman named Ambrose, who received injuries through a horse bolting a few days ago, died last night. The heavy downpour of rain which set in this morning still continues, without signs of abatement. The rain will make the ground very soft for the interprovincial football match with Canterbury on Thursday.
