(REITERS TELEGRAMS.) Losi hiv. August li. Forty French railway officials have been expelled flora the German side of the frontier. The strike of engine-drivers and firemen of goods trains on the Midland Railway continues. The passenger traffic, however, is but little affected, but the goods traffic igreatly impeded. The other companies are according the Midland every possible assis tance. The Shaw-Savill s.s. Coptic arrived at Plymouth on Friday evening, with her cargo of froz.en meat in good condition. The P. and (). s.s. Bengal, from Melbourne, 4th June, arrived at Plymouth today. August 7. Cholera has made its appearance at Malta ami Naples, There are four cases at the former place. The steamer Elingamite, built for Messrs Huddart, Paiker .md Co., of Melbourne has been launched. The naval evolutions off the English Coast have been brought to a conclusion, and the squadron, under Admirals Freemantle and Hewett, have returned to Portsmouth.
In the House of Commons last night the Irish Land Bill was read a third time without a division.
