HAMILTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

An’ extraordinary meeting of the council was held in the Council Chambers last night. Present: His worship the Mayor and Crs. Knox, Jones, Hatrick, Tippen and Bell. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. Tenders for Borough Surfaceman.— The following tenders were received for this service: —W. H. Brown, 4s Gd per day ; John Reed, ss; John Devitt, 4s lOd ; C. Carthy, 4s Gd; J. Hinton, Junr., os; Thus. King, Gs; D. Mclntyre, 5s ; Arthur Mayes, 5s ; J. Dixon, 5s ; H. McPherson, ss; R. Hines. ss; 0. McKenzie, Jun., ss; W. O’Neill, 5s ;J. Clayton, 7.s Gd.—On the motion of Cr. Jones, seconded by Cr. Hatrick, it was resolved that no tender be accepted withh.mt the recomendation of the Inspector of Works. — Cr. Knox proposed and Cr. Tippen seconded, that the tender of C. McKenzie be accepted. Carried.—The committee appointed to arrange as to the fencing of Triangle Reserve in Victoria-street met, and it was arranged that the reserve be dug, levelled and fenced with sawn puriri posts, and No. G plain wire, and that Mr T. G. Sandes be instructed to prepare specifications for.the same forFriday’s meeting, at which time tenders will be considered. This concluded the business.
