Gkevy has promised Mr Collins, Secretary of the Executive Commission for the Melbourne Exhibition, that he will bring before the French Cabinet tho question of France being officially represented at the Exhibition. Personally he is favourable to France being represented.
Vernon’s cricket team sail for Australia in the Iberia. The steamer Fifeahire, intended for the Australian dead meat trade, has been launched at Newcastle-on-Tyne. Lord Charles Berasford has not been censured for breach of etiquette at the recent review, and retains office as Junior Lord of tho Admiralty.
July 31. The Italian Ministry has resigned, and it is probable that the formation of a new Cabinet will be undertaken by Signor Crispi. Hanlan has made his final deposit for his match with Beach.
New York, July 30. Hanlan sails for Australia on August 15. Rome, July 30. M. Depretis, Premier and Minster of the Interior, is dead. San Fhanoisco, July 30. The steamship Mariposa sailed for Auckland at 3 p.m. yesterday (Friday.)
