[by TELEGItAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Wednesday, At a meeting in connection with the New Zealand Alliance for Stipression of Liquor Traffic, the Rev. Mr Driver, secretary and treasurer of the Wellington branch, quoted statistics showing that the drink bill of the colony for last year amounted to £2,130,000, an average of £3 7s Gd per head, which, however, was the smallest expenditure upon intoxicants that had been known for 18 years.
