LATEST AUCKLAND NEWS.
[by telegraph.— own correspondent.] The Fire at Freeman's Bay. Auckland, Wednesday Night. At the inquest on the fire at Freeman's Bay Mill nothing fresh of importance was elicited, and an open verdict was returned. Burglary. At the police court to-day, Henry George Shelly was committed for trial for burglary at the house of the Rev. H. R. Dewsbury. He was also sentenced to three months on three charges of larceny. The ten o'clock License. The City East Licensing Committee today refused an application for the extension of hours till eleven o'clock, and reaffirmed the 10 o'clock closing.
