NGARUAWAHIA

Queen's Birthday.

The followers of John Wesley were favoured with grand weather for their bazaar in aid of church funds. From 2 p.m. till 10 p.m. the Public Hall was crowded with buyers and sight-seers and visitors from all Waikato. The articles sold comprised almost everything to be obtained from a farm, a Berlin repository, or a baby linen warehouse. The choirs of the Presbyterian and Wesleyan Churches with their respective organists and conductors considerably added to the attraction, Mr Dellow's songs being warmly appreciated. The amateur brass band under Mr Hutt, played selections faithfully and well. Nearly everything was sold, but as the cash is not made up it is impossible to report with any degree of accuracy to what extent the church will benefit. The ladies who so successfully worked up this bazaar are Messrs Gilbert, Jones, James, Paddy, Vant, Wallace, and Mesdames Elmsley, Goodwin aud Paddy, who desire to thank the public generally for the kind assistance they have received on every side.

Mr G. R. Turner the much respected agent of the Bank of New Zealand, leaves to-day for Te Aroha, taking with him the best wishes of his numerous fiiends. He has just returned from Hobart, where he has been on sick leave, completely recovered.
