Shortly before 8 o'clock last evening, the firebells rung out and people rushed out of the churches. It was soon ascertained that the fire was at Colebrook and Co.'s general store in Krpanga Road. In a few minutes hundreds of willing hands were at the scene, and a very considerable quantity of goods were removed. The fire originated in an open shed at the back of the store, and must have been the work of an incendiary, as no fire whatever had been on the premises since midday on Saturday, except a kerosene lamp in the evening. The insurance is £250, and the damage about £000. Mr Colebrook and family did not live on the premises.
