MASONIC.
The Provincial Grand Lodge, 1.C.,
at Hamilton.
Thk usual quarterly communication of the Provincial Grand Lodge of New Zealand, 1.C., was held at the Masonic Hall, Hamilton, on Thursday evening: (S. Patrick's Day). Lodge Beta Waikato, 450, 1.C., was duly opened at 8.30, and raised to the 3rd Decree, when the R.W.P.G.M. and the officers of the Grand Lodge were admitted,' and saluted with the usual honours. The members of the Grand Lodge present were the followingß.W.P.G.M., Bro. Geo. P. Pierce; V.W.P.G.S.W., Bro. Alex. Russell; V.W.P.G.J,W., Bro. W. J. 'Suiter; P.G.S., Bro. W. J. Rees; P.G.S.D., Bro. Powley; P.G.J.D.. Bro. A. (Kick! ; P.G. Pursuivant, Bro. Craig; and P.G. Sword Bearer, Bro. Hanna. Lodge Ara 348, 1.C., attended as a Lodge, represented by the W.M., Bro. Kidd, and his wardens. There was a large attendance of the members of Lodge Beta, including a number of P.M.'s, whilst amongst the visiting brethren was Bro. Frank Luwry, P.M. The P.G. Lodge having been opened, the R.W. Provincial Grand Master delivered an interesting and strikingaddress to the assembled brethren, exhorting them to adhere to the glorious principles of the order, and maintain its rights and privileges. The address was listened to with earnest attention, and evidently left a deep impression on the minds of the brethren. A considerable amount of business was then transacted. Inter alia, the R.M. P.G.M. and the Wardens were appointed a committee to enfer with the other constitutions as to the most suitable manner of celebrating the Queen's Jubilee. The Grand Lodge having closed, Lodge Beta was lowered and closed in the usual manner. Subsequently the P.G.M. and his officers were entertained at supper at Barton's Commercial Hotel. The cliair was occupied by Bro, Greville Smith, W.M. of Lodge Beta, and the vice chair by Bro. Barton, S.W. The usual Masonic toasts were duly honoured, and the remainder of a very pleasant evening was dovotod to harmony,
