(by telegraph.— own oorrkspondent.) Outbreak of Scarlet Fever. Auckland, Monday Night. Sevicn cases of .scarlet fever have been reported to the city health officer. The Kawakawa StrikeThe Kawakawa strike has ended, and work resumed. Riotous Conduct. Hugh Gibson, for being drunk and disturbing the Salvation Army service, was fined £10, and bound over to keep the peace. A Dispute. A deputation of the Builders' Association waited on Mahoney and Sons re specification of Baltic timber in Customhouse. The architect stated that he only wished to insure well-seasoned timber, if builders would guarantee against shrinkage they were willing to substitute kauri. A meeting of the association is called to consider the matter to-morrow. A New Trial. At the District Court to-day the judge granted a new trial in the case of Robinson v. Australian Mutual Live Stock Insurance Company. The Volunteers. Colonel Lyon has decided that the Hobsons shall have bayonet competition at Onchunga.
