CAMBRIDGE BAND CONCERT AND DANCE.
A concert (at which the Mayor very kindly presided) and dance was held in the Public Hall, Cambridge, on Tuesday evenin? for the purpose of augmenting the funds of the Band. Tha following was the programme : —Selection by Band; "Death of Nelson," Mr B. Garland; "Shells of the Ocean," Miss Selby ; string quartette; " Sweet Little Shamrock," Mrs Brennan ; comic song, Mr B. Garland; selection by band; comic song. Mr T. Buxton (encored); "Officers Funeral," Miss Dillon (fincored); string quartette ; "Ever of Thee," Mrs R. Kerr; Comic song, Mr J. H. Johnson, encored; "To-day," Mrs Mndigan, encored; comic song, Mr K. Popple, encored; " Under the hazel tree," Miss Snlhy. Mrs Mullholland played so inn of the accompaniments in a very skilful manner. Thfi concert we regret to say was not so well as w-? h.'ped to see it, but the daucd was wcii patronised, a sumptions repast being provided by Mesdamcs Brennan, Madigan, McVeagh and other ladies in return for the band having played at their picnic.
