NATIVE LANDS COURT CAMBRIDGE.
• ■: ■ ■ — ■»- The court opened yenterday morning at 10 a.m., before Judges Williams and O'Brien. The Pukeknra and Puahoe case was called, when Robert Tukere objected to the Court having anything to do with the subdivision, on the grounds that the laud had been ceded to Tawhiao by Mr McDonald on behalf of the owners. The Court stated that the land being inalienable it was impossible for it to be given to Tawhiao ; they should therefore go on with the case. Mr Bell, a solicitor (of Wellington) asked if the applications in the present Gazette would nullify the previous ones ? After a long discussion, in which Mr Jas. Mackay took a prominent part, the Court decided that the present Gazette was in accordance with the Act of 1880, ■ they should therefore proceed with the case. On the application of Mr Mackay the Court was then adjourned untill 10 a.m this morning.
