THE MURDER CASES.
« [BY TELEGRAPH. —I'KBSS ASSOCIATION. | Dunedin, Friday. Papers in connection with the Great Barrier case arrived yesterday, „ and a meeting of the Executive, the Governor and the Hons. Messrs Launauh and Reynolds attending, is likely to be held to-day to consider the matter. Tt is currently reported here that Judge Ward has written to His Excellency that he cannot support the jury's recommendation to mercy, the murder having been deliberately planned. Re the Hall case, the Crown Solicitor says he feels thoroughly satisfied that the evidence in the wife poisoning case was properly admissable at the recent trial, and this is the opinion of the leading legal gentlemen here. Probably the Appeal Court will consider the point reserved in Hall's case in March.
