This Government have cabled to the Eastern Extension Cable Company, declining to submit the que.Nti6n in dispute re subsidy and the reduction in charge* to arbitration. It is probable that the Stark Pnrcha°o Commission will be extended to Wellington, and th.it on the arrival of the commissioners here, they will be as-Iced to take the evidence of one or two members of the Government.
