The Stark Commission. Auckland, Wednesday Night. Thk Stark-Commissionera closed thoir enquiry -this morning. Mr Cotter, representing.Mr Stark and Mr Alison, applied for costi against the "Vigilance Committee. Tlie Commissioners said that that body was not recognised in the matter. It would-be for the Government to determine the question of costs, The decision of the commissioners would not be made known until they returned to Wellington.
The Waitemata Seat. Mr W^ddel declines to contest \Yaitemata. Ha says he means to come out for a city constituency.
Waikato Land Sale. Messrs Tonics and Co. sold allotment No. 4R7, suburbs of Newcastle, Wstikato, containing 4 acres 1 rood and 21 perches, with buildings thereon, for £50.
