DEATH OF MR W. J. HURST, M.H.R. [BY TELEGRAPH.— OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Auckland, Friday.
Mr Kissling, manager of the Bank of New Zealand, this morning received the following cable. London, October 7th.—" Intimate to friends Hurst's death.— Mary E. Hurst." The Star's London correspondent writes : — Mr and Mrs Hurst left London on the 24th August for Folkestone to see tho Queen's physician, whom Mr Hurst consulted immediately on arrival at the hotel Metropole. He insisted on his prompt removal there, and placed him under the care of a medical man who makes dropsy hii speciality. I saw Mr Hurst once or twice during hi& brief stay in town. Though very weak and quite unable to talk much, he was cheerful and full of hope for tha future. I thought he showed wonderful pluck ani fortitude, and the malady weemed to show signs of yielding to the treatment.
