It was about three-qiui teis of an hour after she told Burrows to cut the body down till Mr Raven came and cut the rope. Had the body been cut down when first seen, it i* probable the man would have lived. The Coroner said: "This is the most dreadful thing I ever heard of, and it is mo.st extraordinary that people will go on in that stupid way of seeing their fellows in a position of danger, and not attempt to save them till the police are >-ent for." The jury returned a verdict of temporary insanity, and passed a vote of censure upon Burrows.
