OKETE.
Thk promoter of the W.utetum and Oketf TVnni-. Club must feel highly gratified at the >ucco>v, of theii undeit.iking. T\\o exceptionally brave young men. who deservo to be decorated with the V.C., mustered courage enough to come forward .tnd the official looking docirnent, and two mure are seriously thinking the matter over befoie casting in their lot with the je^t. Tt is their intention to practice -even times :i week, and if thoroughly proficient by November next, will make a t(»ur of the Waikato, and pl\y a series of matches with all the principal clubs. Several ambitious sweet sixteens have started an amateur dramatic .society, and purpose making their debut in a spiritstirring comedy in about a month hence. Considering the capabilities of the talented aspirants to dramatic fame, the enteitainment should eclipse anything hitherto held in the district. Pl<iycroer-> who can appreciate true ait will have no cause to feel disappointed, as- the acting will be equal if not superior to Mary Andersons or Mrs Lnngtry's. — (A Correspondent.)
