London, July 21. The cricket match, Australians v. England, was concluded to-day at Lords. Tho weather was fine, and the attendance good. The wicket was in better order than on the previous day. The Australians, who followed on for a second innings, were only able to score 12S, or a total of 249 for. the two innings. The England Eleven thus won the match in ono innings with 104 runs to spare. In the Australians' second innings the highest contributors were: — Palmer, caught, 48 ; Trumble, caught, 20; Jones, bowled, 17; Jarvis, not out, 13. For the Englishmen, Briggs took six wickets for 40 Barlow two for 10.

July 22. Mr Shaw, who intends taking out an English eleven to Australia next season, writes to the Pres.-. disbelieving: the statements that have been published that the Melbourne clubs will refuse to jlend their ground for matches to be played on, and h« trusts that the gentlemen of England will not assist Mr Wardell in selecting a team for a colonial tour, as he considers the latter'a proceedings are unfair to cricketers at home.
