In clause 57 Mr Walker moved an amendment in the direction of distributing capitation allowances equally to all volunteer. I*.1 *. Mr liall.ince protected against tho extra expense this would incur. Colonel Trimble moved an amendment so na to m.ike capitation not more than £3 in any corps. Mr Walker withdrew his amendment in favour of Colonel Trimble's, but the chairman then ruled the latter out of order, and both fell to the ground. Mr Balance offered to consider the question, linking the allowance for garrison and country corps more equal, but declined to increase the total vote. Colonel Trimble then moved to strike out out of clause* words hxing grants to garrison corps at £3, and t to country corps at i/L 10s. After some discussion Mr Ballanco accepted thp amendment, which in effect t# simply to affirm that capitation should be paid without fixing: any amount.
