ARRIVAL OF THE S.S. ARAWA. [BY TELEGRAPH.-PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Port Chalmers, Sunday.
THI: Shaw, Savill, and Albion Co.V steamer Arawa, Captain Stewart, from Plymouth, via the Cape and Hobart, arrived off (•ttago Head* at G p.m. on Saturday. She brings 2000 tons of cargo and 140 passengers for New Zealand ports. The Lyttelton mails, confuting of 19 bags and 5 packages, for ports up to Napier, were | brought ashore at Port Chalmers at 11 p.m. yesterday. To deaths occurred on the voyage — that of John Hicksou, aged 22 years, !' from consumption, on June 14 ; and John Abeen, a baby, , on tho next day, from pneumonia. The Arawa's passage from Plymouth to Otago Heads occupied 41 days 15 hours 28 minutes. She left to-day for Auckland direct.
