Thk Hteamer Wallabi went ashore hint night about half a mile north of the entiance. She went out about eleven o'clock. There was a thick fog on at the time, but the' signal lights could bo seen above it. The gea was irregular, alternate heavy rollers and tolerably Hinooth seas. After getting outside she met a succession of heavy sens, which were hid by the fog. The first one Hhe negotiated successfully ; but, it) being followed by four or five others, she could mako no headway, and was finally landed feign and dry by a heavy tea without striking' previously. The moment she struck Hotn« sailors jumped ashore and made her fast. She now lies out ot reach of all but unusually high seas. Sao is insured for £1000 in the Now Zealand office,' and it is thought also for £500 in the Victoria. She could be easily floated through the lajroon, except for the Northern Crown harbour Works. To launch her along the beach will be a more expensive job. She is loaded with coal.
