KIRIKIRIROA LICENSING COMMITTEE.

The first meeting of the committee was held at the Waikato County Chamber* yesterday. Present : Messrs A. Piimnxp, H. Steele, H. (iillett, T. S.Runciman, and Capt. Powell. On the motion of Mr Gillett, seeondod by Mr Powell, Mr Piiinrose wah elected chairman.

Taupiri Hotel. On the application of Mr Lovell a renewal of his publican's license was granted. Mr Lovell applied for an accomodation license in lieu of the other, urging the dulness of the times as a reason. He stated that the house was 5 miles 12£ chains from ! the nearest hotel, that at Hiuitly. The committee adjourned the application i until the 18th, to give Mr Lovell an opportunity to get nn authorised surveyor to certify to the distance.
