THE WAIOMO COLDFIELD. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Thames, Thursday.
A F£W weeks ago a new discovery of gold was made at Wniomo, situated about ten inilen from the Thames. Splendid prospects of looxe gold were obtained, and in consequence numbers of claims in the vicinity were pegged out. The prospectors a day or two ago had a parcel of t\t<> and a half tons of general dirt and 200 pounds of picked stuff packed to the Thains for treatment by one of the batteries. The crushing was finished to-day, for the rich return of 109 ounces retorted gold, which ia valued at •bout £3 os per ounce.
