It is laid that complaints navo been made to tba Minister of Justice of the publication in '• Who's Who," a local production, of all persons who have confessed judgment in the Magistrate's Court, and that Mr Tole ban issued instructions to the clerk* not to permit anyene in future to examine the court books or documents. At the Supreme Court, Joseph Roberts, charged with attempted rape, was acquitted. The Aorangi, which leaves for London to-morrow, has already booked 250 passengers. -Mr E. W. Morrah, Inspector of the Bunk of Australasia, will represent the Wellington Chamber of Commerce at the conference of Chambers of Commerce in London during th« Colonial and Indian Exhibition. A coat has been washed ashore with several papers, addressed " P. J. Me Vane," and these are supposed to be connected with the body found floating in the harbour on Sunday. Information has been laid against Mr F. Ross, fruiterer, for perjury. The offence is alleged to consist in the defendant having made a false declaration for the purpose of bringing certain land under the Land Transfer Act.
