The industrial strikes in Belgium are rapidly spreading, and ha\e now extended to the Charlcroi district. Rioting of a very serious character is of, almost daily occurrence. The chateaux of employers and factories are being pillaged, and, in some cases, burned. The troops- have been called iuto requistion, and there have been several sanguinary conflicts with the rioters.^. A Press Association message says :—: — The colliery riots in Belgium are .widespread, and great havoc to property has been the result. Sanguinary conflicts have also taken place, and many persons have been wounded.
