All oyator beds in the Bay of Island and Hauraki Gulf are closed; the Great Barrier beds, and those north of tho Bay of Islands are open. The reason assigned for closing i* the wholesale destruction of beds for supplying foreign markets. Export is now prohibited. ' At tne Appeal Court, Ward v. National Bank; a base referred from Timaru, all ituues applied for were refused, and the .defendants allowed costs. Leave was granted for appeal to the P,rivy Council.
