FATAL ACCIDENT.

A fatal accident of a peculiarly distressing character occurred yesterday, the victim being a bright hix-year-old lad, son of the late Mr C. C. Wood, and grandson of Mr Browne Wood of Woodlands, near Hamilton. The little boy, whose Chri«tian name was Athol, was on a \ isit to his grandfather, and yesterday afternoon about 3 o'clock, he was playing about a Cambridge .roller, scrambling over it, when the horses attached suddenly moved on, and the little fellow fell underneath, th« roller passing over the right side of his b.idy and head. He railed out, " What shall I do," and then became unconscious. Dr. Mtiroh was aent for, but before he arrivpd the boy, was dead. Much sympathy-is felt' for Mr and Mrs Browne "SVood,' and for the mother' of the boy, who is in Auckland.
