THE HOWARD CONSPIRACY. FURTHER TESTIMONY.

Somk further evidence is reported to have been discovered relative to the "seveied hand," Detective O'Connor, of Ohristchurch, ■with photo in his possession, is on a visit to Wairai.ipa wheie Howard was for a time working. The photograph was seen by a hon-in-la,w of a Mrs Rayner, who died and was buried about November 25. He immediately asserted that he rpcogniscd the hand. Upon showing the photo to the other relative, they were almost certain it was a picture of Mrs Rayner'h hand. She had suffered from erysipelas, and theie was a scar on the thumb. Application was made to exhume the body, but some difficulty cropped up, and it has not been done yet. Being holiday time, the gra\ o was loosely filled in at first, and it is supposed Howard had little difficulty in breaking open the side of the coffin. These particular-* are given by the son-in-law of Mr-, Rayner.
