Supreme Court Civil Sittings. Auckland, Monday Night. Judge Gillies non-suited plaintiff in the action Paten and .Speed v. the Board of Education, to compel the members to pay the grant paid to Mr Peacocke out of their own pockets. The judge held that only the Auditor-General could ,suo —ln the case Ellen Warding v. W. L. liuller, claim £500, judgment was given for plaintiff, execution to be .-t^yed until ne\t t <e»!si<m>, when a counter-claim will be heard. —ln the xsuso Riora Karetai v. Joseph' Howard, claim £1,2">0 for services rendered, theha was a counter claim for food supplied and cash paid. It \ya<* agreed to postpone the case till next sitting of the Court. It is quite probable that during the interval an amicable settlement will be arrived at.— Auckland Agricultural Co. v. Te Kawju', for damages, £20, for trespabs and injunction, was adjourned until to-morrow.
