CONCERT AT KIHIKIHI.
! A concert was held here on the 30th of last month in aid of the funds of tho Roman Catholic Church (Hey. Father Luck in the chair). It was certainly one of the most successful entertainments ever held here. The committee of management surpassed themselves in the perfection of the arrangements, not only in providing the best musical talent procurable, but in providing a nice little supper, to which all were welcomed. The sinking was the best heard here ; it id a treat to near buch vocalists as Mrs McCurdie, Mrs OBrien, Misses Swan, Lurrigan andCullen. It was Mrs McCJiu die 'a first appearance in Kihikihi, and tho sweetness of hei eingit.g was thoroughly appreciated by everyone. I hope I shall have the pleasure of hearing the lady again. As regards the rendering of Mi*.s Swan's songs, ifc nas simply ail that could foe desired, and fully justified the high praise which has always been bestowed on the lady. Her song, " Cushla Machine," hit the tasto of the audience exactly, the majority of whom claim the dear old Emerald Isle svs their birth-plaoe. It carried many of vu> back in memory to the Land of the Shamrock. It is needless- to say the song was loudly applauded and encored, as ifc was sung with creat ejtpresfjion. and, pathos, Mise
