In the singles the oluinpiou cup fell to Hudson of Auckhncl, I'Vuwick, of Hastings, being second. Hudson and Carr, of Auckland, won the championship doubles, beating tiie brothers Ross, of Christclmich. In the doubles' match, visitors versus dis^ tiiot, Hud -on (Auckland), and Ross (Ohristchurch), were beaten by Fenwick and Bogg, of Hawke's Bay, by three sets to one. T hit was a splendid game. The prizes were presented by Mrs J. A. Williams.
WOODVILLE, Thursday. A little boy, son of MrGower, butcher, was rushed by a cow this morning. The horn entered the child's eye and pierced the brain, making a fearful wound, Death is expected momentarily.
