Adelaide, Decemher 31. The South Australian Government have given notice that that colony has withdrawn from the New Guinea guarantee, and that the South Australian quota will be discontinued.

Mklbourxe, Dec. 31. A mass meeting of wharf labourers was held last night, when it was decided that, failing the acceptance by the masters of the terms stated by the men, the whole body would go on strike to-night. Probably fully 800 men -will be involved in the struggle. Telegrams received in this city to-day announce the discovery of the bodies of three men at Clifton Hills. It has been ascertained that the party which set out consisted of nine men, and an active search has been instituted for the missing six bodies. Those discovered show that death resulted from thirst.

Sydney, December 31. In to-day's produce market a weaker tendency was observable in all descriptions of grain. New Zealand wheat was quoted at 3s 6d per bushel, and oats 2s sd, while maize p.jr 56lbs was worth 3s lOd ; rfu r 'cir Co.'s No. 1 remained at A' 26 per ton.
