Melbourxk, Dec. 18. It is stated that the Hon. G. B. Kerford, Attorncy-Gener<il of Victoria, will shortly be elevated to the judicial bench. The formal prorogation of Parliament takes place to-day. The Assembly has not dealt with the Tasmania^ rccipiocity treaty, and the measure is in consequence shelved until next session. Victoria ship-owners have formed a combination in order to resist the demand made by the wharf labourers for a large increase in their wages.
