Adklude, December 17. A most destructive fire broke out in Grenf ell-street last night, resulting, before the flames could be checked, in the total destruction of Messrs Coonibes 1 timber yard, Burford and Co.' soap factory, and a number of private cottages. The efforts of the firemen were neutralised by the high wind which prevailed, and the damage is estimated at fully £30,000, the bulk of which will fall upon the South Australian Insurance Company. One of the buildings contained 1500 barrels of resin, which melted and flowed along the street a stream of liquid lire.
