Thk Adjourned meeting of the Union was huld .it S. Andiew's school-room on Monday evening last. Theie was a small attendance <>f members. The Speaker, the Vcn. Archdeacon Willis, took the chaii. Dr March, Mr David Richardson and Mr J. L. Houttei weie elected member-*. Mr Richardson took his seat with the (Jovernment as Mmwtei for Public Works. Tins thank-> of the House were accorded Mr J. H. Whyte for hi 1 - courtesy in forw aiding the l'arh.uucntiiiy najiers fiom Wellington for the use of the Union. Notices ( ,f motion :— Mi Kecsin^, " That the l'.uli.uncntiirv i).i]iers foiuarded by Mr Whyte bo submitted to tho House, and thnt the House; decide wh.it course shall be pursued with regard to them." Mi GWpei asked for leave to introduce a bill to encoui.uje tude l>et\\een this colony and tho conntues on the east and west co.ist of America. -Leave granted. The second reading of the bill was h\od for next meeting. The satisfactoiy manner in which the records of the House had been kept by tho cleik, Mr «li»i. McVeagh, was adverted to by inetuliers on both "ides of the House. The Houso meets again next Monday o\cnin{,' at the usual hour.
