The usual monthly meeting of tho council was h.-Ul at tlio chambers, Hamilton hast, yesterday. Present : Messrs Piunroso (chairman), Runcmi.in, Richardson, Johnson, Barugh and Seddon. A lettei was lead horn the Hawkeh Bay County Council, asking the council to join in nuking a protest against the .substitution of a new 101 l of Crown and native lands for the one diawn out by the Property Tu\ Department.
