On tho c\cning "f New Years Day a concert ami hall took place in tho Public Hall, in connection with the sports there was a large attendance tho Hnll being filled. The concert might bo called almost an impromptu oik 1 , those who .assisted hnuug kindly voluntfeiod their services. The concert commenced with nn oveitnro by the To Awamutu Baud titular Bandmaster Sibloy. Tho MinstreU followed by a walk round song and chorus, " Parsons in the Vir." Tho Hong " Does Your Horn t Beat True " Mr Miles was fairly rendered, and tho sons; by Mr Morpeth, " Robin Grey " waa cncoied. A stump speech and dance by Mr Moiecroft, caused roars of laughter. The song " Kiloeu AUannh " by Miss Sago, was sung with taste and expression, Mr Rigg sang "The IJghthou.se Keeper." The song " Tapping at tho Garden Uato"MNs Finoh, was most charmngly rendered. The Song in character, "Oh what a wicked young man you arc." was highly applauded A piano solo by Mr Grierson was most attentively listened to, and applauded. The song " Love I Will Lovo theo liver " by Miss Allan was most enthusiastically repoivQd- Tho song " Ijet Youi Teats Kiss the Mowers on M.V Urovo " by Mr Stanton met with so emphatic an encore, that a repetition had to bo given. A duet by Miss Allan and Mr Morpeth was well sang. Mr Riggs song " The Tars Farowell" was very well sung. Tho audience woio ovidontly bqnt tnora on d.mcing than mubic, and the programme was to meet tho taste of tho audience, curtailed and tei psichwro took possession, and reigned supromo until daylight next moining. Tho To Awamutu band ftnnished the music. Thus onded a pleasant holiday, and a, welcpnie t<) tho Now Year,
