As the fields will consist almost solely of local horses each i event promises to be well contested. The entries are large and the horses are all well known in the district. The Trotting Handicap is of special interest, and the Maiden Steeplechase should prove an exciting contest. There will be a tofcalisator on the ground as usual, and the Cambridge band will be in attendance. The railway .authorities have arranged to run a special train from Hamilton to Cambridge on the occasion, leaving the former place at 11.20 and returning from the latter place at 7 in the evening. The steamer Delta will leave Ngaruawahia at 7 a.m. and Hamilton at 9,30, returning the same evening, leaving the racecourse landing after the labt race. Thi» should ba ,a ponderable jnd.ußement, but we trust a still further inducement will be afforded in respect to reduced faros.
