The ordinary meeting of the council was held at Ohaupo, on Tuesday. Present : Mr E. Lake (chairman), Crs. Corboy, Lang, Hntchiuaon, Gertnann, Smith, and Teasdale. A lengthy report was received from the engiueer, recommending certain works in the Rangiaohia, Newcastle and Tuhikaramea Ridings, to the extent of some £170. These were agreed to by the council, which also sanctioned the expenditure of a small sum of money to make good the main road between Ohaupo and Te Awamutu. The question of the new railway time-table was discussed. The chairman pointed out that (he only way to secure a return to the old time-table was by petitioning the Department. He considered the change had been brought about with undue haste. The following tenders for a bridge at Monavale were opened : — A. Niocol £210 (accepted) ; Kay and Miller £270 odd.
