CAMBRIDGE TOWN BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the above board wan held at the board office on Monday afternoon. Preaont : Crs. Houghton (chairman), T. B. Lewis, Hughes, Gillett and Hewitt. Town Impiiovmenth.— The engineer, Mr Jno. Gwynneth, reported that very little progrosn had been made with the works under contract, owing to the weather. Cambridge Band.— The secretary of the band applied for the use of the Public Hall for the purposes of practice on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, when the hall was not in use. — Permission granted. Hamilton Road Formation. — A petition was received from the Rev. W. N. de L. Willis and eleven other ratepayers, asking the board to continue the formation of the above road from the church corner to Grey-street. — It was agreed to do the work as suggehted. The Rang eu.— Some discussion took place as to how the ranger, Murphy, discharged his duties. Charges were made against him to the effect that he had led horses to the pound, and had impounded cattle and hor*es that were not legitimate straylings. — It was finally agreed to allow him Is <)d per tail for each animal impounded. Accounts. — A number of accounts were pa&bed for payment.
