Important Land SaleAocklixd, Friday Night. Thirty-thkke acres of land fronting the Remuera ro.ia and Portland road, the property of the Hon. James William son were purchased yesterday by a syndicate for the sum of £9000. The property has a frontage of 1000 feet to the Remuera main roid, and 2000 feet to Porthnd road, leading to the beach. Another extensive sale ot suburban property is reported, Captain Fielder of Devonport having sold a 20 acre block for £6000.
The Government and the Liquor Traffic in the King Country. In rep'y to a deputation to-day re the drink traffic in the King country, the hon. Mr Tole said that the matter had been before the Government, and his own impression of the decision arrived at was that Kawhia should be included within the area over v.-'iich the sale of drink was interdicted. However, to n.ake certain he would at once telegraph to the Native Office at Wellington for inlonnation, and let Mr, Newman know the result. The Stabbing Case.
