The member-, for Frankton, Pukete and Horotiu, who had voted with the noes, condemned the action of the Government, and accused Ministers of making party questions out of the most trivial matters.— The standing ordeis were suspended, and the Ministers warmly defended the position they had taken up, the Premier remaikmg that the Opposition knew perfectly well what the result of an adverse vote would be. He declined to occupy the Government benches unless he had a majority at his back. A long and animated debate followed, and at ten o'clock the House adjourned until next Thursday. The Ministers have since tendered their resignations to the Governor, who has accordingly " sent for" the Leader of the Opposition, the member for Frankton.
