[bv telegraph.— own correspondent.] Waiokongomai, Wednesday Night. In connection witlj the Piako county election, things are assuming a rather lively turn. Mr Cooper, the unseated member, has wired to the chairman of the council repudiating the ruling of Mr Kenrick, and protesting against the election being held on Friday ne\t. He maintains that he i& the councillor for the riding, and intends to take his seat at the next meeting, The polling for the raising of the £9000 loan takes place on Saturday, but as little intimation has been given it is to be feared that the required number of votes will not be obtained.
