WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL.
The adjourned meeting of t\w Wai pa County Council took place on Tuesday .\t Ohaupo. Present: Messis P. C Ger maun (chairman), Tcasdale, Grace, Grice, Corboy and Atkinson. It was resohed to rebuild the bridge at Monavale, which was seiiously iiijur.-.l by the late floods, and also to build .i brick culvert near McNicol's on the Ohaupo-Hamilton road, where the bridge win as have been washed away by the lat« floods, and the council determined to borrow the money under the extraordi nary drainage clauses of the Ro.uls and Bridges Constiuction Act for the purpose. Councillor Corboy was authorised tv get the road from Hamilton to Whati whata repaired where bad, and to call tenders for fascines for the voi U. A letter was received from Mr Little, requesting payment of one year's s-alaiy as poundkeeper in the Newcastle district —The clerk was instructed to inform MiLittle that the pound was under the control of the Newcastle Road Board, and therefore they had no jurisdiction in the matter. A letter was received fiom the Ngarua wah ia Town Board re the punt, enclosing two tenders received for keeping the same in good order and condition. As the council knew nothing of the matter it was agreed to refer the letter back to the Ngarnawahia Road Board for further information. It was resolved to fence the northern appioach to the Mangapiko bridge at Alexandra, where several accidents have occurred lately, and the chairman (Ci. Germann) was deputed to get the woik done. Repairs were ordered on the Te Awamutu station road, Rotorangi swamp road, Kihikihi-Rangiaohia load, Hamilton to station road, and Te AwamutuKihikitu load, and the engineer was instructed to at once get the Mysteiy Creek culvert set straight, also to make out the estimates tor the bridges at Monavale and McNicol's. The chairmen of the Mangapiko and Rangiaohia Road Boards waited on the council, and on their suggestion it was resolved that Sing's road, Ngaroto, should be handed over entirely to the control of the Mangapiko Board, the boundary of the district having hitherto been the centre of this load. Several accounts were passed for payment, and it was resolved that if no airangemcnt is made with the Waikato County Council at their next meeting te the appointment of an engineer for the two counties, that tenders be called for at once for an engineer to the Wai pa County.
