[BY TELEGBAPH. — OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Melancholy Occurrence. Auckland, Wednesday Night. Intelligence reached town to-day of a shocking fatality that occurred at Mangawai on Friday. A native girl, seven years of age, was burnt to death in a whare. The relatives buried the remains the following day without giving information to the police or the coroner. Special Constable Sturch, stationed at Mangawai, heard of the occurrence yesterday, and communicated the fact to Superintendant Thomson to-day. Mr Thomson has instructed the constable to dis-inter the remains, and communicate with the nearest corner in order that an inquest may be held.
